FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The following is a short list of questions we think might pop up from time to time. For anything else feel free to send us a message via our chat function or through the email contact form at the bottom of this page.

How do I contact an artist for more information?

Each artists profile in the database has a text box that says "CONTACT" this will bring up a small contact form where you can input your message to the artist. Be sure to include your name and email so they can get back in contact with you.

Do I need to be a member to buy artwork or contact artists?

No, anyone can freely browse the database for artists and artwork they love, then simply click through to an artists profile and send them a message. Only artists wanting to show work need to become members.

Where can I find information on what this website is about?

Our story and information on everything we do at SIXTEENOnline is in our "About" section at the top of this every page. Or you can click here to learn more about what we do to help artists who join our community.

How do I become a member?

Select "Sign Up" in the menu bar at the top of this page or click the green icon in the top right to create an account. Follow the simple instructions when directed or download our how-to PDF for a step by step guide.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Once you have created an account, signed up for membership and are logged in, the drop down menu in the top right will change what options are available. Select manage my subscription to make any changes.

My profile is blank and I can't edit anything on it. What's wrong?

The first time you make an account you will need to activate your profile. When you complete your membership you will receive an email with an "Activate" button. Ensure you are logged in to the website before clicking this button which will then allow you to make changes.

How do I complete my profile?

Once signed up, select edit my profile in the top left drop down menu. Once your account is activated you can simply work your way down, inputting the relevant information into the text boxes provided. Images require you to upload examples of your own work. Remember to include all the relevant details such as name, size dimensions and price.

Why can't I find my profile on the database?

If you haven't uploaded a thumbnail image near the bottom of your profile, the database will not show your work. You can use this to make sure your profile is 100% ready before art buyers can find you. Be sure to pick the best example of your work to capture their interest.

How do I crop my images ready for the website?

Our website will automatically crop most images you upload but we suggest choosing the best examples or sections of an image for the header and thumbnail of your profile. You can easily crop this using software already on a phone or tablet that can take photos or can download free apps such as CANVA for more control.

Can I use the same image more than once?

You are more than welcome to use an image more than once such as with the header and thumbnail images. However, we recommend putting images of recent artwork ready and available to buy in the 9 main images on your profile.

Can I show my artwork on my own website or with another gallery?

We encourage artists to put their work up online in as many places as possible. It increases chances of others seeing your work and building your profile as a credible artist. We don't enforce exclusivity like other galleries but if you show your work with another gallery elsewhere check they are happy for you to put your up online with us. As all sales are done through you we don't take any commission.

I want to ask a question not on this list. How can I do that?

You can get in contact with us a few ways if you have any other questions. Either use the chat function in the bottom right (it has an icon that looks like a speech bubble) or send your question via the contact form below.
