Simon Barlow
Simon Barlow - a kiwi now living in Gloucestershire
I have been painting and sculpting for over 40 years both recreationally and commercially for my work ; in architecture and design . Since retiring I joined two local Life Class (Stroud Life Drawing and Paul Fowler Life drawing - extreme poses),from which my interest in the human form developed, and sought inspiration from ballerinas due to their physicality, balance, and grace. The style, medium, and colouration is varied to complement the dynamic of the pose and character of the Ballerina. In the process of creating the Ballerina series I have tried to Capture different aspects of their art form, from the endless training and hard work to the final stage Pro-Formance as a Primadonna.
I have made a virtual model of sixteen gallery with a preview of my Ballerinas exhibition on 15 -21 Against 2024.
Exhibition very successful, sold 3 of 21 paintings on show.
