Helena Zabko Phillips
I feel very lucky to have spent my formative years in the depths of the Welsh countryside. It instilled within me a deep sensitivity and a quietness to appreciate my surroundings. As a teenager my family uprooted to the Midlands and in later years as an adult, greatly missing the countryside I moved to Gloucestershire. Busy with the family it was only as they began to fly the nest that I embraced art wholeheartedly.
I paint predominantly with oil paint enjoying its flow and versatility. I like to paint a variety of subjects but particularly enjoy setting up and painting a still life. Within a still life I like to convey a sense of calm and peacefulness whilst capturing a moment in time.
