Genevieve Murray is part of one of the best annual open exhibitions this year at the RWA in Bristol. The show, displaying over 600 works covering all media you can think of and artists from leading professionals to emerging talents; is chock full of great pieces that come together in a cohesive and complementary exhibition. With some fantastic figurative works, alongside beautiful printmaking (just to name some highlights) this show is one not to be missed if you want to see some great artwork in a beautiful space this Autumn!

For a run down of what's great at this show, we mentioned it in our what's on October, check out our article here.

SIMON BARLOW

Bodyline; Stroud Lifedrawing Group Exhibition

This month, Simon Barlow is part of Bodyline, a group exhibition of recent paintings and drawings of the human figure by artists who attend Stroud Life Drawing’s sessions with Keith Symonds. An important part of artistic training, life drawing forms a basis of Simon's figurative work, and you're sure to catch some great pieces from him on show here.

Only on for a few days, make sure you pop in if you're local to Stroud, for a peek into the artist's process and some inspiring foundational drawing skills! Find more information here.

4 - 16 October
SIXTEEN GALLERY POST CARD SHOW

Coinciding with the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Sixteen Gallery's Postcard show is a curated exhibition of over 200 original postcard sized artworks, created by a community of local artists of all abilities and experiences. Featuring a whole host of fantastic local artists and plenty from across the collective, including: Fiona Boult, Ellie Cottrell, Nicola Curie, Anna Lansley, Genevieve Murray, Jonathan Oakes, Ann Ogden, Andy Owen-Smith, Arthur Owen-Smith, Helena Zabko Phillips, Christina Sadler, Anita Saunders, Susan Smith, and Tamsin Stuart.

And with 10% of sales going to charity, it's the perfect way to support local artists and grow your own art collection with an affordable original piece.

Come down for the private view on the 4th or join in with the Literature Festival Lit Crawl on the 5th where the gallery will play host to one of the events (see more info here), either way, don't miss this special show and the chance to see so many great local artists in one place, and maybe find your new favourite artwork!

ANTONELLA SCARPA-ISLES & MICHAEL ISLES

Element, Sixteen Gallery

At the end of the month painter Antonella Scarpa-Isles and photographer Michael Isles are coming together with 3 other artists - photographer Lisa Lavery and two jewellers, Tessa Tyldesley and Lottie Jana - for a group show at Sixteen Gallery.

Exploring an elemental theme, this show is set to be grounded and textural as the disciplines work together to complement and engage each other. Watch this space for all the details to come later in the month!
