INTRODUCING MEMBERS OF THE COLLECTIVE

INTRODUCING | ARTISTS

CAROLINE EVANS AND MIKE SKINNER

For the first artists introduction of the year, we wanted to highlight some of the top artists who've been the collective since early on and give them a little reintroduction if you're new to their work. So we're introducing two members of the collective, very different artists and give new viewers the excuse to dive a little deeper into their portfolios.

CAROLINE EVANS

Caroline Evans is an accomplished painter with work focused on natural forms, predominantly flowers. Be it bountiful blooms gorgeously tightly cropped or bright studies of wild flowers on serendipitous grounds of acrylic ink her work displays a bright vivacious wildlife that celebrates florals in all their forms. Her different approaches show two distinct sides to her work. Her bouquet images (for which she takes commissions) bring the viewer right inside the painting amongst the pale petals; they are light bright celebratory works which show off her skills in perfect pastels. In contrast, her wildflower studies are more mysterious and evocative, using the combination of the inks underneath to create a sense of the flower existing in its environment with the viewer looking on. With styles which are continually evolving Caroline's work is one to keep up with as we wait to see what she does next, explore her current work on her portfolio below.

MIKE SKINNER

Mike Skinner is a mixed media artist who is a member of both the Society of Graphic Fine Art and the New Bath Arts Club and creates works including British land/city-scapes, abstracts and still lifes. His practices is not restrictive of material or method and he is inclined to work in both abstraction and figuration, making him a real all-rounder creative of exciting and powerful work. The sense of energy and atmosphere of different environments is prevalent across his works; be it his series of chair still lifes which show rooms imbued with personality or his landscapes of rolling hills or cities which move with life on the board. As a widely exhibiting artist, Mike's work can be found at exhibitions across London and the South West, keep up with him on his social media to find out where you can catch his work next, and check out his portfolio on the link.
