I am a Turkish-born artist living in the UK, best recognised for my colourful abstract paintings.  My art portrays emotional landscapes. Each painting serves as a visual journey, capturing the nuanced interplay of feelings and sensations that define our lived experiences. From moments of tranquillity to storms of intensity, these artworks invite viewers to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of human emotion, offering glimpses into the complex landscapes of the heart and mind. Through colour, marks, and texture, I seek to evoke a sense of connection and introspection, inviting viewers to reflect on their own emotional landscapes and the universal truths that unite us all. My paintings are rarely planned in advance. I search for and eventually discover my paintings through intuitive mark-making and layering in paint and mixed media. I like the colours to dance expressively and I love to make them work in harmony or fight for attention. It involves a balancing act between analysis and instinct, letting go and taking control. I enjoy producing paintings that invite the viewer to surrender in to their visual experience and become absorbed in the piece. Viewers are uniquely equipped to complete the creative process by combining their own experiences and perspectives into what they see since my paintings are purposefully ambiguous. I love hearing what viewers see in my work.
